Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026 (analytics section updated)

This privacy policy explains how Ben Duffy collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the website www.searchben.com.

I am the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR. My contact details are:

What data I collect

I collect personal data that you voluntarily provide through the forms on this website. This includes:

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how this website is used. This tool does not use cookies or any persistent identifiers, does not build individual visitor profiles, and does not track you across other websites. It collects:

Your IP address is used briefly to determine your country but is not stored. See the 'Cookies and analytics' section below for more detail.

Why I collect it

I use your data for the following purposes:

The legal basis for processing your data is legitimate interest (responding to a direct enquiry you have initiated) and, where applicable, your consent (by voluntarily submitting a form).

How your data is processed and stored

Form submissions on this website are processed through Web3Forms, a third-party form handling service. When you submit a form, your data is transmitted to Web3Forms and forwarded to my email inbox.

Web3Forms processes data in accordance with their own privacy policy. I encourage you to review it.

Once received, your data is stored in my email account and is not transferred to any other third party unless required to provide the services you have requested, or where required by law.

How long I keep your data

I retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. For enquiries that do not lead to a working relationship, I will delete your data within 12 months of receiving it. For clients, data is retained for the duration of our working relationship and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping purposes.

Website analytics data (page views, referrers, device and location information) is kept in full for 7 days, then aggregated into anonymised summary statistics for up to 6 months, as set by Cloudflare's standard retention policy.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact me at ben@localify.agency. I will respond within 30 days.

Third parties

I do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. Your data may be shared with:

If additional tools are used in the future - such as a CRM or email marketing software - this section will be updated to reflect that.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use cookies, localStorage, or any other technology that stores information on your device. No individual visitor profiles are created, and you are not tracked across other websites.

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic to this site - things like which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located, and how the site performs. This works via a lightweight script that does not rely on cookies or device storage. Unsampled data is kept for 7 days, then aggregated for longer-term reporting, with reports accessible for up to 6 months.

Because no cookies or device storage are used, a cookie consent banner is not required for this analytics tool. If that changes in the future - for example if a different analytics tool requiring cookies is introduced - this policy will be updated and, where required by law, your consent will be requested first.

Changes to this policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. I encourage you to review this page periodically.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
